Stay Filled Up

Pastor Coran taught us how to stay filled up as we go on this adventure.

As with any adventure or journey, we must keep our tank (ourselves) filled up.  We run out of gas or food for a number of reasons.  We do not fill up regularly.  We are too bust to stop and fill up.  We go further than we are supposed to go.  We have a leak that takes away from us.  We are in a hurry.  We are too bust with the wrong things.  We are overloaded or overwhelmed.  We do not recognize our limits.  We do not come to church regularly.  We do not fellowship with other believers regularly.  We get lost in the hustle and bustle of life.

But, we can avoid running out of gas or food by letting God do what He does and then we do what we are supposed to do.  Matthew 11:28 (NASB) gives us the first step, “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”  We must come to Jesus.  Matthew 11:29 (NASB) further helps us with filling up, “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”  We must let God be in control.  Proverbs 20:24 (NASB) reminds us that we must trust God and His plans. “A man’s steps are ordained by the Lord; how then can a person understand His way?”

We must do our part.  We must start each day with God in prayer.  Matthew 6:6 (NASB) tells us, “But as for you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door, and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.”  And, as often as we can, connect with your church and fellow believers.  Hebrews 10:25 (NASB) reminds us to “not abandoning our own meeting together, as is the habit of some people, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”

We must follow have a thirsting soul that is satisfied in God and God only.

Remember…

This is your journey.  Have a FUN ADVENTURE, filled with JOY.  Focus on your PURPOSE.  Remain true to your FAITHFULNESS.  Trust God through the ANXIETY, FEAR, GRIEF, and PAIN.  Adhere to godly WISDOM.  Maintain HOPE in Jesus, and you will have the VICTORY.
