Dear brothers and sisters, have you ever felt overwhelmed by the busyness and chaos of life? Have you ever struggled to find peace and rest for your soul? Today, I want to share with you some words of encouragement from the book of Isaiah, which remind us that we can find true rest by trusting in God.
Trust in God's promises
Isaiah 26:3 says, You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. When we trust in God and His promises, we can find a peace that surpasses all understanding. We can rest assured that God will always keep His word, and that He is working all things together for our good.
Fix your mind on God
In verse 4, Isaiah says, Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal. When we fix our minds on God and His unchanging nature, we can find stability and security. No matter what trials or challenges we may face, we can rest in the knowledge that God is with us, and He will never leave us nor forsake us.
Surrender control to God
One of the reasons we struggle to find rest is because we try to control everything ourselves. We worry about the future and stress about things we can't change. But Isaiah reminds us to surrender control to God and trust in His sovereignty. When we let go of our own plans and submit to God's will, we can find a deep sense of peace and rest.
My friends, I encourage you to take these words to heart and trust in God's promises, fix your mind on Him, and surrender control to Him. When we do these things, we can find true rest for our souls. As Isaiah says in verse 4, Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal. May we always remember that God is our rock and our refuge, and in Him we can find the peace and rest that our souls so desperately need.
